Our candles are made with a premium blend of coconut and soy wax. This combination provides excellent scent throw, smooth tops, and great adhesion to jars, ensuring a high-quality burn experience.

What kind of wicks do you use in your candles?

We use a variety of wicks tailored to each candle, including cotton core wicks and flat braided wicks with a paper filament. These wicks are designed for clean burning, reduced smoke, and minimal curling. We do not use lead or zinc wicks.

Do your candles contain any artificial dyes or additives?

Yes, we use sustainable, liquid candle dyes made with a natural solvent that is REACH and GHS compliant.

What does it mean for your products to be GHS compliant?

What is the fragrance profile of your candles?

Each fragrance has top, middle, and base notes to create a well-rounded scent experience. Refer to individual product descriptions for detailed profiles.

How can I get the best performance from my candle?

Trim your candle wick to 1/4 inch before each use. If you notice a carbon mushroom, an overly long wick, or excessive flame, smoke, or soot, extinguish the candle, trim the wick, and relight it. Regular trimming prevents issues like flickering, soot, and wick curling, while ensuring a safer and longer burn.

How can I keep my candles looking their best?

To maintain your candles' appearance, avoid exposing them to intense light, such as direct sunlight or fluorescent lighting, for extended periods. Store them in a cool, dry place, as wax can soften at temperatures above 80°F. Proper storage will help prevent discoloration, fading, and other damage over time.

Do you offer free shipping or expedited options?

We do not offer free shipping. Standard rates through USPS and UPS apply.

Do you ship on weekends?

We do ship on weekends occasionally, but we use discretion, especially during hot weather. To avoid your candles sitting in hot trucks over the weekend, we aim to limit shipments to earlier in the week when extreme heat is expected.

For the best experience, please plan for someone to be home to accept deliveries, particularly during the summer, to prevent your candles from sitting in the heat. While we insure all shipments, please note that melted candles are not covered by shipping carriers like UPS, FedEx or USPS.

Here are some tips to help avoid issues:

  • Have your package delivered to a location where someone can be present, such as a friend or family member’s house or your workplace (if allowed).
  • If your package is being delivered to your home, try to have someone there to bring it inside as soon as possible, especially during hot weather.
  • We aim to ship early in the week to minimize the time packages spend in warehouses or trucks over the weekend.

How long will it take to receive my products?

Shipping times can vary depending on the time of year. Shipping times start when the product has been shipped not from when the order is placed. Generally, we ship orders within a few days, though during hot summer months, it may take an extra day or two to ship, as we aim to ship earlier in the week to avoid heat exposure from sitting in warehouses over the weekends. This is just an estimate. You will receive tracking information to monitor your order.

Note: During holiday seasons, shipping delays are common and beyond our control once the order has been dispatched. Additionally, COVID-19 and other pandemic-related issues have occasionally caused shipping delays, though these impacts are random and inconsistent. If delays occur, they are unfortunately outside our control.

Do you ship to PO Boxes?

We do not ship to PO Boxes.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently ship only within the United States.

What measures do you take to ensure the safety and quality of your products?

At That’s Amazing Candles, we prioritize your safety and satisfaction. Recipes for each of our candles undergoes rigorous testing. These tests ensure proper wick sizing, minimal mushrooming, reduced soot, and even burning, creating a premium experience tailored just for you. Please see "How long will the candle last?" FAQ for additional details.

How long will the candles last?

That’s Amazing Candles are designed to burn for 20 to 25 hours, leaving about 0.5 inches of wax at the bottom. This guideline is based on safety considerations and is a common recommendation among candle makers and retailers. As the wick nears the base, the glass container can become very hot, potentially causing cracking, breaking, or damage to surfaces underneath. To further ensure safety, we also recommend burning all candles on heat-resistant surfaces.

The 20 to 25 hours of burn time is tested in controlled 3 to 4-hour intervals. However, environmental factors can influence the actual burn time. Elements such as proximity to vents, windows, entrance-ways, room size, and other environmental conditions can impact how quickly the candle burns. For optimal performance, we recommend placing your candle in a stable, draft-free area. Burn times cannot be guaranteed.

Why should I discontinue using a candle when only a half inch of wax remains?

This recommendation is primarily for safety. As the wick burns closer to the bottom, the glass can become very hot, potentially causing it to crack, break, or get damaged. To prevent this, it’s important to stop using the candle when about 0.5 inches of wax remains. We also recommend always burning candles on heat-resistant surfaces to further ensure safety. Please see "How long will the candle last?" FAQ for additional detail.

Why do I see occasional puffs of smoke coming from the wick or flame?

Small puffs of smoke can occur if the wick is not properly trimmed. Always ensure the wick is trimmed to 1/4 inch before each burn to reduce smoke. Another common cause is drafts from windows, doors, vents, or areas with frequent movement. These drafts can disturb the flame, causing it to flicker and produce smoke. If the smoke is occasional, it’s usually not a concern. Placing your candle in a draft-free location will help ensure a cleaner burn.

Why is my candle leaving wax on the sides of the container?

A small amount of wax residue on the container’s sides is normal, especially toward the top or middle of the candle, and often evens out with continued burning. However, excessive buildup (more than 1/4 inch) or tunneling—a hole burned down the center—can happen if the candle isn’t burned long enough for the wax pool to reach the edges (allow 3–4 hours per burn).

We use premium ingredients and test all our candles to minimize these issues. For best results, burn your candle until the wax melts evenly across the surface each time (should not exceed 4 hour burn time). If tunneling occurs, it may self-correct as the candle burns, though severe cases may not recover fully.

Why does my candle wick have a mushroom-shaped bloom after burning?

The mushroom-shaped bloom, also known as carbon buildup, can occur with any type of wick and wax, especially in highly fragranced candles. This happens because the fragrance oil moves up the wick during burning. While it’s completely normal, the mushroom head should be trimmed before relighting the candle. This serves as a helpful reminder to trim the wick. Be sure to let the candle cool and harden before trimming to avoid wick debris falling into the wax.

How can I prevent my candle from smoking when I extinguish the flame?

To avoid smoke when extinguishing your candle, try to avoid blowing out the flame, as this can cause excessive smoke and may even splatter melted wax. If you must blow it out, do so gently.

A wick snuffer is the best tool for the job, as it extinguishes the flame without producing smoke. That's Amazing Candles' lids are not designed to be used as a wick snuffer for a candles.
